Over 30 youth in Asikuma Odoben Brakwa have been arrested by police for manhandling police officers on duty at Breman Agoase in the Central region of Ghana.
The Asikuma District Police Commander Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Odokoh Baah explained that the youth were arrested after some two suspects were reported to the Breman Brakwa Police police of defiling a 16-year-old girl of which two police officers went to effect an arrest but were beaten by youth in the community.
The two suspects are Kofi Shaibu aged 22 and Emmanuel Donkor aged 19.
After the attack on the police officers it provoked a police swoop in the community leading to the arrest of over 30 community members while some are on the run.
Meanwhile the 2021 Population and Housing Census which was extended from the initial deadline of 11th July ends on Sunday 18th July 2021.
