The Ashanti Regional Police Command has began chasing armed robbers who shot a 24-year-old lady dead at Maxima, a Suburb of Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti region.
The deceased identified as Angelina Akua Serwaa Gyimah was a hardware shop attendant who got shot on Tuesday night at around 9:30 am by unknown gunmen and bolted with her handbag.
The police who is committed to bring the perpetrators to book are soliciting for information from residents.
Ghanaian politician who is equally an eyewitness, Nana Agyenim Boateng said all he heard was gunshot and later the sound of a motorbike which fled the scene so he rushed to the scene and found the young lady lying helpless so he rushed her to the KNUST hospital but she couldn’t make it.
Our preliminary investigations revealed that she told her family that she was visiting a friend around Tech junction but she was shot immediately she got down from a commercial car at Maxima”, Manhyia Divisional Police Commander ACP Kwaku Bua stated while giving a situation report on GhanAkoma show.
