Three suspected armed robbers alleged to be involved in several armed robbery cases in the Nabdam and Zebilla districts have on Sunday 11th July 2021 been arrested by the Upper East Regional Police Command.
The three robbers are in the persons of Yidaana Shamshudeen aged 23, Bodozina Awudu aka ‘Network Absorber’ aged 20 and Maxwell Ziaba also known as ‘Strongman’ aged 19.
The suspects were all arrested from their various hideouts at Pelungu and Dakota. Things found on them were locally manufactured Pistol, three Cartridges of ammunitions, one double-edge knife, two unregistered motor cycle, five different phones, and five gold detectors.
After being interrogated the suspects confessed to robbing some Mossi men at Tarkwa and Obuasi mining communities around Tongo and Gane in the Talensu District of the Upper East Region.
Meanwhile the Committee of Inquiry established by the Interior Minister will resume its sitting on Monday 12th July to further interrogate more witness on the Ejura shooting.
