Laurent Gbagbo and Henri Konan Bédié, two former Ivorian Presidents who doubles as long-term rivals have announced to the general public that they are uniting to combat the current President Alassane Ouattara.
After being accused of being the mastermind the post election violence that stormed the country while he was still President and refused to step down after the 2010 election he was detained.
After recently returning to his country after he was acquitted at the International Criminal Court , the 76-year-old has teamed up with his long term rival to fight current head of State.
The two have said that they are uniting because ”there is an urgent need to work for a return to a definitive peace in the country’.
As at 2010 Mr. Bédié teamed up with the current President Ouattara during the general elections but the former joined the opposition as soon as things went south between himself and the President.
