The NDC Member of Parliament for Ning Prampram, Samuel Nartey Geroge has said that he is against a decision to pay First and Second Lady salaries whether it is an NDC or NPP President.
According to the NDC MP plans to pay the spouses of Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia is not necessary because the nation needs money for more pressing issues.
He made this comment after the government decided to adopt a recommendation by an emolument committee that has long been approved by Ghana’s seventh Parliament.
Speaking on Neat FM’s morning show titled ‘Ghana Montie, he quizzed whether the country will decide to pay the spouse of the speaker of Parliament too.
Are we also going to say that the spouse of of the Chief Justice, the spouse of the speaker of Parliament must also be paid?
He threatened to go to court on the matter because he is against it and doesn’t subscribe to it.
He stressed that as far as he is concerned there has been any agreement that was approved by the seventh Parliament.
