Ejura-Sekyeredumase Municipal Chief Executive Mohammed Salisu Bamba has told the 3-member committee set aside to investigate the Ejura disturbance that some faceless group of individuals are using the death of social media activist Kaaka for their own interest.
He made this comment when he appeared before the committee of inquiry on Thursday 8th July 2021.
The MCE says from the look of how the whole environment has been polarized, some faceless individuals are trying to use Kaaka’s death for their own parochial interest.
The 3-member committee came about when the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo instructed the Interior Minister Ambrose Derry to investigate the Ejura disturbance.
Since the start of this week the likes of General Joseph Aphour, Simon Osei-Mensah have all appeared before the committee as they help with the investigation by answering questions asked by the committee.
Meanwhile General Joseph Aphour disclosed that the military didn’t deliberately shoot at the unarmed protestors but only fired gun shot to scare the crowd in order to handle the situation but a gunshot from within the crowd was fired and that is when the military shot to maim and not to kill.
