The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has postponed the 2021 SRC elections after supporters of two aspirants clashed during a vetting.
According to the Registrar of the school in a statement, every activities regarding the SRC election has been postponed indefinitely.
The statement also indicated that investigations that was conducted disclosed that the SRC vetting that was held last Saturday 3rd July was smooth and peaceful until it got to the turn of the vetting for the presidential aspirants when the violence started.
”Management of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has postponed all activities leading to the 2021 SRC elections with immediate effect until further notice. This follows a clash between some supporters of two aspirants believed to be affiliates of University Hall also known as Katanga and Unity Hall also known as Conti”, the statement read.
