Latest report gathered from the camp of Real Madrid indicates that their left-back ”Marcelo” has been named the new captain of the club following the recent departure of Sergio Ramos.
The club’s president Florentino Perez affirmed the new development in a statement saying; ”Marcelo will be our captain next season. It’s difficult to find another LB like Marcelo. Him and Roberto Carlos have been the best on the history”.
Marcelo who has been with Los Blancos since January 2007, will see his present agreement terminated in June 2022, however it is perceived that there have been no discussions to either sell the sensational defender or renew his arrangement as of now.
Marcelo who lost his place to Ferland Mendy under Zinedine Zidane, made 19 appearances in the 2020-21 season, adding to the multiple times he has played for Real Madrid during a 14-year profession in the Spanish capital.
