Wa Islamic Girls Senior High School students in the Upper West Region of Ghana surrounded the premises of the Regional Police Headquarters, asking for the release of some arrested teachers and school mates.
According to reports on Monday, June 21, 2021 the staff and students were arrested as a result of a complaint logged by a man who was arrested by the school for allegedly robbing and attempting to rape students.
Information has it that the said man who is identified as Sharon was arrested and tied with a rope on campus and handed to the police.
After he was granted bail he filed a complaint against some teachers and students of the school of assault during the time he was arrested.
This move compelled the entire school body to storm the premises of the Upper West Regional Police Command asking for their members to be released.
The students were heard chanting words like ‘we want justice’ to get their teachers and colleagues released.
