The Ghana National Hajj Board and Ghana Hajj Agents have announced the cancelation of 2021 Hajj for Ghanaian pilgrims for a second time in a row following an announcement by the Saudi government that international pilgrims won’t be allowed for 2021 pilgrim.
Owing to this the National Hajj board has informed pilgrims through an announcement on processes Muslims who have paid for the pilgrimage can use to get a refund
In a communique signed between the Ghana Hajj Board, and the Ghana Hajj Agents Association at Hajj Village over the cancelation, Chairman of the Ghana Hajj Board Sheikh I.C. Quaye explained that pilgrims who wish for a refund will be paid expeditiously once they apply for it.

“In light of the June 12, 2021 announcement by the Saudi Governments’ Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, that Hajj 2021 is cancelled for International pilgrims, we have collectively, per our last joint communique met to agree on the following,” Sheikh I.C. Quaye said yesterday at a press briefing in Accra.
“Pilgrims who paid directly to the Hajj Board and wish to receive a refund of their Hajj fees (for 2020 payments), must apply to the Hajj Board for their refund to be paid expeditiously” he assured Muslims.
“Pilgrims who wish to retain their Hajj fee deposits with the Hajj Board (for 2020 Hajj), will be exempted from paying any increment in the Hajj fare for 2022. Pilgrims who via their agents, wish to retain their Hajj fee deposits with the Hajj Board(for 2020 Hajj ) will be exempted from paying any increment in the Hajj fare for 2022”, Sheikh I.C. Quaye said.
He added that those who have already paid their fees to the board through their agents are encouraged to apply for refund through their agents.
