President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, has stated that the country is facing challenges with its vaccination programme because the country is finding it getting the COVID-19 vaccines.

Addressing a gathering at an SDG forum at the Jubilee House, Nana Addo revealed revealed that the government has put together a team, led by former Environment, Science and Technology Minister, Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, to work out modalities that will see to the production of vaccines in Ghana.
Nana Addo disclosed that the global politics on manufacturing, procurement and distribution of the vaccine is making the situation even more difficult.
Meanwhile the Health Minister has said that the country will continue to make use of middlemen because dealing directly with manufacturers of the Sputnik-V is difficult.
