MacKenzie Scott, a philanthropist and ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, reported that she’s making another round of donations to charitable organizations.
MacKenzie, who is currently hitched to Dan Jewett after her 25-year-old union with Amazon CEO smashed, made the declaration on Tuesday, June 14, in a blog post. Scott and her significant other Dan Jewett, gave $2.74 billion to 286 associations that concentrates on arts and battling racial segregation.
This charitable donations happens to be Scott’s third major round donation. She went all out and gave a whopping $6 billion in 2020 to 500 associations. Scott is additionally an endorser of the Giving Pledge, promising to part with half of her fortune to worthy missions during her lifetime, or after her demise.
This latest donation brings all her donations together and amounting to over $8.5 billion in less that a year.
This is what she had to say; ”Sitting down to write this post, I felt stuck. I want to de-emphasize privileged voices and cede focus to others, yet I know some media stories will focus on wealth”.
