We Wanted A 20% Increment In Transport Fares, 13% Is Peanut – Commercial Drivers Boldly Reveals

Latest report gathered by our outfit indicates that commercial drivers have revealed they were expecting a 20% increase in transport fares.

According to them, the reported 13% increment isn’t sufficient to conceal for the upward changes in fuel costs and other operational expenses.

An assertion given by transport administrators on Wednesday June 2 said this is to empower them accommodate the increment in the costs of fuel.

The new tolls took effect from Saturday June 5, 2021.

David Aboado, Public Relations Officer for Concerns Drivers Union had this to say;

”We were hoping for 20%, we didn’t agree with 13% because it is just a peanut”. This he said on TV3’s mid-day news on Friday, June 4, 2021.
