Kwame Nsiah-Apau well known as Okyeame Kwame has given Ghanaians the shock of their lives following revelation he made about the cost of his marriage.
Speaking to Johnny Hughes on the New Day show the couple disclosed that they decided to have a simple wedding by making so much compromises in order to understand each other.
According to Annica, Okyeame Kwame’s wife she wanted a simple wedding but her husband wanted something big but upon several talks he agreed and they went for the simple wedding.
”Aside from the rings that we bough, it cost us 300 cedis to marry, but this was 12 years ago. What it was was that I did not want a very elaborate activity. So what I believe and Kwame does too is that the marriage is not the ceremony. What happens between the two of you. So all we needed were witnesses, that’s all”.
Okyeame Kwame further said that all he and his wife did was to sign at the registry and later had lunch at a local chop bar. ”We went to KMA (Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly), there were seven of us. We signed, and we were done. And I remember that cost GHS150 at the time. We then went to Adum in Kumasi to go eat fufu. Done. Marriage was done”.
The couple didn’t buy the idea of people going for loans to have a lavish wedding.
