Akufo-Addo, Bawumia, Asiedu Nketia And Many Dignitaries Pay Last Respect To Sir John

Many top dignitaries including President Nana Akufo-Addo have stormed Sakora Wonoo to pay the late former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie well known as Sir John.

Sir John whose sudden death occurred on July 1 2020 has been laid in state on Thursday June 3 2021 at his hometown in the Ashanti region of Ghana.

Many politicians have stormed his funeral grounds to pay their last respect to the late Sir John who lost his life to covid-19.

Reports indicate that President Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President Muhammudu Bawumia, Second lady Samira Bawumia, Trade Minister Alan Kyeremateng and the General Secretary of the NPP were all present to pay their last respect.

Speaking about Sir John, Nana Akufo-Addo showered praises on him for his dedication to the NPP and Ghana.

Passionate Devotee of the Danquah-Dombo-Busia political tradition, outstanding stalwart of the NPP. Strong defender of human rights as a lawyer and faithful adherent of the Seventh Day Adventist faith. These were the multi-faceted aspects of the career and character of Sir John which earned him great affection and considerably renowned”, Nana Addo stated.

Asiedu Nketia described the late Sir John as a ‘brother’. Apparently the two were very close despite being in two opposing parties. He disclosed that Sir John stayed in his house for three days when he lost his mother and needed love, affection and consolation.
