Christian Atsu Says Goodbye To Newcastle United After 5-Years With A Touching Message

Christian Atsu Twasam is a Ghanaian professional footballer who last played for Premier League club Newcastle United and the Ghana national team. He primarily plays as a winger, although he has also been deployed as an attacking midfielder. He began his career with Porto, also spending a season on loan at Rio Ave.

Christian Atsu has said goodbye to Newcastle United in a post on Facebook, saying he won’t ever fail to remember his time at the club.

Christian Atsu’s contract will expire on June 30, yet he has reported his takeoff following a difficult and challenging 2020-21 season which just ended a month ago.

The sensational footballer was forced to train with the reserve squad after their new manager Steve Bruce stated at the beginning of the season that Atsu was not in his arrangements.

Atsu remained at the club in light of the fact that he was unable to secure himself a transfer made just 1 appearance of which he played for 10 minutes for the first team. He was not even named on the bench for a Premier League match after that.

Christian Atsu used the opportunity to express gratitude toward the players, staff and the die-hard fans of the club for their help during his five years. Christian Atsu has since been connected with a move to Sheffield United.

Christian Atsu took to his official Facebook page and bid his farewell to the club with caption;

”When I arrived in Newcastle almost 5 years ago, I was made to feel welcome from the start..by everyone at the club and especially by the fans. I grew to love the city and my young family feel very at home here. Sadly, the time has now come for me to leave the club, so I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who is part of the Newcastle Utd family. Thank you to the Toon Army fans, a lot of whom I’ve met around the city. I will never forget my time in the North East and for sure I will follow the results every week. Thank you my geordie staff, players & fans, it’s been a pleasure!”
