Recall that we reported that one of the newly procured ambulances was filmed being used to load bags of Cement at Budumbura in the Central Region of Ghana.
In the video that has gone viral on social media, the ambulance was packed somewhere while unknown persons packed bags of cement into it. This took many Ghanaians by surprised who were shocked at what a national asset was been used by some few people.
The Public Relations Officer of the National Ambulance Service has reacted to the viral video that has garnered massive attention from the public.
According to the PRO, Simmons Yussif Kewura on Citi FM Tuesday evening wasn’t under the care of NAS at the time the unfortunate incident occurred. He says it was rather in the care of the suppliers who were supposed to service it under warranty.
He revealed that management of NAS are planning to report the matter to the Police because the ambulances are not meant to carry cement or any other hardware.
The host of the show quizzed him if it sounds scandalous he responded with; “It is, it is, and currently management is planning or tomorrow we are going to report this matter to the police because the ambulances are not meant to carry cement or any other hardware. It is purposely for conveying patients to the hospital…”
